According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the average home leaks enough air daily to equal leaving a window open year-round. Sealing those gaps prevents energy loss and creates a more comfortable indoor environment.

A blower door is a special fan installed in an exterior door. It lowers indoor air pressure and causes outside air to enter through gaps and cracks. This helps our experts quickly find leaks using tools like smoke sticks and infrared cameras. We use calibrated blower doors to provide accurate air flow data and measure how tight your home is.
Before we arrive:
We remove attic insulation, seal all visible leaks (around wires, pipes, and framing gaps), then reinstall fresh insulation. This is the most effective way to prevent attic air from leaking into your living space.
If attic access isn’t possible, we seal from the inside. We use caulk, foam, and weather stripping while also isolating combustion appliances for safety. Although this approach may not be as airtight, it still makes a big difference—especially in older homes.
At SRI Energy, we do more than seal air leaks. Our certified Home Performance Professionals take a whole-home approach. We offer insulation services, energy-efficient windows, and air sealing options tailored to your home’s structure and budget.
